Hey guys, if you still have an old iPhone like 4S, iPhone 5, 5C, or old iPad 2, 3, mini 1, you know how hard it is to jailbreak these days. Most old tools need a computer and lots of steps. But now there’s something super simple called Carbon.

Carbon is a jailbreak you do right in Safari browser on your device. No computer, no cables, no downloading big files. Just open a website and follow the steps. It’s perfect for old 32-bit devices.

Which devices work?

•  iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C

•  iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4

•  iPad mini (1st gen)

•  iPod touch 5th gen

It works on iOS 8.0 up to iOS 9.3.6 (that’s the max for these old devices).

Not for newer ones like iPhone 5S or later (64-bit).

Not sure your iOS version? Go to Settings > General > About and check.

Important: It’s Semi-Untethered

After jailbreak:

•  If your device restarts or battery dies completely, the jailbreak goes away.

•  You have to open Safari again and run it one more time.
That’s normal for old iOS 9 stuff. On lower versions like iOS 8 or 9.3.4 it might stay after reboot (untethered), but on 9.3.5/9.3.6 it’s semi.

Before you start – do these safety things

1.  Make a full backup (iCloud or computer with iTunes).

2.  Charge your battery at least 50%.

3.  Use good Wi-Fi (not mobile data – it can drop).

4.  Don’t interrupt when it’s running. Old devices can freeze or reboot during the process – that’s okay, just wait.

How to do the jailbreak (very simple steps)

1.  Open Safari on your old device.

2.  Go to this website: http://carbon.sep.lol
(Make sure it’s the real one – bookmark it after.)

3.  Tap the big Run or Jailbreak button.

4.  Wait. Your screen might freeze, go black, or reboot a few times. Don’t touch anything. It takes 2-10 minutes.

5.  When it’s done, your device goes back to home screen.

6.  Look for Cydia app – open it. It will load and set up (first time takes a minute).

That’s it! Your device is jailbroken.

If it fails the first time (common on old hardware), just refresh the page and try again. Sometimes need 3-5 tries.

After jailbreak

•  Open Cydia and add repos to install tweaks, themes, etc.

•  Popular old ones: WinterBoard for themes, or small speed tweaks.

•  Your old device feels a bit faster and more fun now.
