iOS 6 App Store Not Working Fix – Step by Step Work (iPad 2, iOS 6.3.1)

This steps list is for people who are using iPad 2 with iOS 6.3.1 and facing App Store problem. I am also using same device. My App Store was not working before. After following below works, now App Store is working.

Please note again, device must be jailbroken and Cydia must be installed. Without jailbreak, these steps will not work.





Step 1: Open Safari Browser

  • Unlock your iPad 2

  • Go to home screen

  • Open Safari browser

  • Make sure internet is working

  • WiFi connection is recommended

  • If WiFi not available, mobile hotspot also okay

  • Without internet, next steps will fail

  • Safari should load pages properly before going next step


Step 2: Install Required Certificate

  • In Safari address bar, type this website
    https://chillboi20.github.io

  • Press Go and wait for website to load

  • Website may load slow, because old iOS

  • Do not refresh again and again

  • On the page, you will see certificate install option

  • Tap on install certificate

  • Follow the instructions shown on screen

  • Allow certificate installation when asked

  • Do not cancel or close Safari during install

  • After certificate is installed successfully

  • Restart your iPad

  • Restart is very important, do not skip this step


Step 3: Open Cydia After Restart

  • After iPad restart, unlock device

  • Go to home screen

  • Open Cydia

  • First loading may take long time

  • Old devices are slow, so be patient

  • Let Cydia prepare filesystem if needed

  • Let Cydia refresh all default sources

  • Do not force close Cydia

  • Wait until Cydia fully ready


Step 4: Go to Sources Section in Cydia

  • In Cydia bottom menu, tap Sources

  • You will see list of existing sources

  • On top right, tap Edit

  • After that, tap Add

  • A small box will appear to enter source URL

  • Now you are ready to add sources


Step 5: Add First Cydia Source

  • In Add Source box, type this URL carefully
    http://aoiblog.jp

  • Tap Add Source

  • Cydia will start refreshing

  • Wait until refresh finishes

  • Do not close Cydia during refresh

  • Sometimes it takes time, that is normal

  • After refresh, tap Return to Cydia


Step 6: Add Second Cydia Source

  • Again tap Add in Sources

  • Type this second source
    http://cydlia.inyoxiplaygames.uk

  • Tap Add Source

  • Wait patiently for refresh

  • This source may load slow

  • Do not worry if it takes long time

  • Let refresh complete fully


Step 7: Add Third Cydia Source

  • Tap Add one more time

  • Enter this third source
    http://cydia.nekokawa.net

  • Tap Add Source

  • Wait until refresh done

  • All three sources must be added

  • Check sources list to confirm

  • If any source missing, add again

  • Without all sources, tweaks may not appear


Step 8: Install “Checkmate, Store!”

  • Go to Search tab in Cydia

  • Tap search bar

  • Type Checkmate, Store!

  • Make sure spelling is correct

  • Open the tweak from search result

  • Read description if you want

  • Tap Install

  • Tap Confirm

  • Wait until installation completes

  • Do not exit Cydia

  • Installation may take some time

  • Let it finish properly


Step 9: Install “AppStoreFix”

  • After Checkmate, Store! installed

  • Go back to Search in Cydia

  • Type AppStoreFix

  • Open the tweak page

  • Tap Install

  • Tap Confirm

  • Wait until installation finish

  • Do not interrupt this process

  • Both tweaks are important

  • Skipping one tweak may cause failure


Step 10: Restart the iPad

  • After both tweaks installed

  • Cydia may ask to respring

  • It is better to restart the iPad

  • Hold power button

  • Slide to power off

  • Turn on the iPad again

  • Restart helps apply all changes correctly

  • Do not skip restart


Step 11: Check App Store

  • After restart, go to home screen

  • Open App Store

  • App Store should open normally

  • If asked, sign in with your Apple ID

  • Use same Apple ID you used before

  • Go to Purchased section

  • Try downloading an old app

  • App must support iOS 6

  • Download should start normally

  • If download starts, fix is successful

  • Now your App Store is working
